Position:  Speech-Language Pathologist

 

 

Under the direction of the principal and Director of Special Education, the speech-language pathologist’s job responsibilities include but are not limited to providing evidenced based therapy, evaluations, IEP development, and teacher consultation.

 

 

Requirements:

  1. Must hold a South Carolina certificate as a Speech-Language Pathologist or be eligible for certification
  2. Master’s Degree in Speech Language Pathology
  3. ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence or Clinical Fellow Applicants
  4. Licensed by South Carolina Board of Examiners-LLR

 

Responsibilities

  • Screens, evaluates, and diagnoses speech/language disorders and determines student eligibility for enrollment in the speech/language program.
  • Develops goals, objectives, methods, and materials to assist students in achieving their highest potential.
  • Provides a therapeutic program to meet the individual needs of Speech-Language Impaired students
  • Provides speech/language services in full compliance with district, state, and federal regulations.
  • Maintains thorough, ongoing student records in compliance with district, state, and federal regulations.
  • Collaborates with regular education teachers and other staff members to implement therapy suggestions for the student’s daily activities.
  • Maintains Medicaid documentation
  • Perform all other duties as assigned
